Where we work
Interior designers in Stellenbosch and the Cape Winelands
Estate and farm properties where the interior has to hold its own against the landscape outside it.
Winelands properties are usually larger, more horizontal, and more exposed to the landscape than city homes. The interior has a harder job: it has to feel considered in rooms that are genuinely big, and it has to survive being seen against mountains and vineyards through six metres of glazing.
Scale is the recurring technical problem. Standard furniture sizing disappears in these volumes, and the usual fix is bespoke. Custom-designed pieces and joinery drawn to the room let us hold proportion in spaces where off-the-shelf simply reads as underweight.
Estates such as Val de Vie and Pearl Valley operate with architectural and finishing guidelines, and often with a preferred contractor list. We plan around those from the outset, and we are comfortable working alongside the architect and estate design review rather than presenting them with something already decided.
