Interior decorators in Cape Town and across South Africa
A boutique studio based in Cape Town, working from the City Bowl out to the Winelands, and on projects elsewhere in the country by arrangement.
Where the studio works
Interiors by Wanda Michelle is a Cape Town studio. Most projects sit inside an hour of the city: apartments in the City Bowl and on the Atlantic Seaboard, family homes through the Southern Suburbs, new builds in Durbanville and the Northern Suburbs, and estate properties out towards Stellenbosch and the Cape Winelands.
That radius is deliberate rather than a limit on ambition. Interior work lives or dies on site visits, supplier relationships and being able to check an installation in person, and those are all easier to do well inside a region you know. The Western Cape trade base, from joiners and upholsterers to stone and lighting suppliers, is one the studio has spent two decades building.
Projects beyond the Western Cape
Work further afield is taken on case by case. The studio has delivered residential projects in Gauteng and a lodge refurbishment in Botswana, so the model is proven: a longer concept and specification stage up front, scheduled site visits at the points where they matter, and a local contractor team coordinated from here. It suits larger projects better than small ones, simply because the travel has to be worth doing.
If your property sits outside the areas below, the answer is not automatically no. It is a conversation about scope, budget and how often someone needs to be on site.

Common questions
- Which areas of Cape Town does the studio cover?
- Cape Town Central and the City Bowl, the Atlantic Seaboard, the Southern Suburbs, the Northern Suburbs and Durbanville, and Stellenbosch and the Cape Winelands. Estate properties such as Val de Vie fall inside that radius.
- Do you take on projects outside the Western Cape?
- Yes, case by case. The studio has delivered residential projects in Gauteng and a lodge refurbishment in Botswana. Work outside the region needs a longer concept and specification stage, scheduled site visits at the points that matter, and a local contractor team coordinated from Cape Town.
- Is there a minimum project size?
- No. Projects range from a single room refresh and apartment makeovers through to full homes and new builds. Scope and a suitable working model are agreed at the first consultation, before any design work begins.
- What happens at the first consultation?
- It is with Wanda Michelle and carries no obligation. It covers the space, how you live in it, your requirements and budget, and establishes scope and a working model before anything is designed or ordered.
